Ingredients

  1. 1 cup butter, softened
  2. 2 cups packed brown sugar
  3. 2 eggs
  4. 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  5. ½ teaspoon almond extract
  6. 3 cups quick-cooking oats
  7. 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  8. ½ cup sliced almonds
  9. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  10. 1 teaspoon salt
  11. 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  12. 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  13. 2 tablespoons butter
  14. ½ teaspoon salt
  15. 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  16. ½ teaspoon almond extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Beat 1 cup butter and brown sugar in a large bowl until smooth and creamy. Stir in eggs, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, and 1/2 teaspoon almond extract; mix well. Combine oats, flour, sliced almonds, baking soda, and 1 teaspoon salt in another bowl; stir into butter mixture until batter is just mixed. Spread 2/3 batter into a 10×15-inch rimmed baking sheet.
  3. Heat chocolate chips, condensed milk, 2 tablespoons butter, and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a saucepan over medium heat until chocolate is melted, about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and stir in remaining 2 teaspoons vanilla extract and 1/2 teaspoon almond extract. Spread chocolate mixture into baking sheet over oat batter. Spoon remaining 1/3 oat batter over chocolate.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 20 to 25 minutes.

These are to die for! The almond flavor isn’t very strong, but I will definitely be making these again and again!!!

Yummy… These bars our easy to make and turned out excellent. They took about 20 minutes to bake in a 350 oven. I waited and added almonds to the remaining 1/3 oat batter and then crumbled the batter on top. My family loved these. Two thumbs up !!!

Tasty bars.. made quite a bit more than 30. I used regular old fashioned oats and it came out fine. Vanished at church potluck!

5 stars. I didn’t use the sliced almonds and I will try a 1/4 tsp of almond extract in the fudge mix. They were a hit!
