Bake Sale Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Brownies

  4.6 – 30 reviews  • Blondie Recipes

Since I can remember, my family has used the same recipe for these moist, delectable brownies. Everyone loves it, and it makes a terrific bake sale item. One customer returned twice to a recent sale before sending his son back for more!

Cut the recipe in half and baked in 8 x8 glass pan, my family and I absolutely loved them, very moist and delicious.

This was super fast and easy! Everyone enjoyed these. Best part it was easy clean up too!

Rated 3 but would be a 4 if there were less chocolate chips. I bought the mini chips by accident. Used 1 cup in mix and the rest on top. The amount of chips made it very sweet. Too sweet for us. I think they would also be good with toffee chips or butterscotch chips. The recipe is super easy to make. With the alteration mentioned above I’d like these a lot.

These bars are so buttery delicious and easy to make! I used dark chocolate chips, so they were extra rich. I used a glass 9×13 baking dish and adjusted the bake time to 25 minutes. Perfect for a gathering or tailgate! So yummy!

I needed a dish for a cookout and this worked great! I cooked mine for 20 minutes. Changed nothing and they were gone in a flash!

Honestly I was expecting these to just taste like your average chocolate chip cookies (just in bar form). I was wrong, they exceeded my expectations! The cinnamon gave a nice flavor. My daughter and husband both said they were the best bars! The only thing I did differently was using gluten free flour and they turned out perfectly! I did have to bake a little longer than the recipe called for, but no problem. They were easy to make and my daughter and I had fun baking them together. We will definitely be making these regularly.

I cut the recipe in half.

Yum! My only changes were to use a 10 X 15 jelly roll pan and to mix all of the chips into the batter at one time. Next time I may use fewer chips. These were really rich!
Paul Schaefer
They were as delicious as advertised.

I made the recipe as-is, used a metal baking pan with parchment paper underneath to avoid it sticking, and cooked for 28 minutes. It came out perfect and is a new favorite.

Yum! Sooooo good.

do you have to let it get cold before you eat it? Mine stayed really soft but it was delicious. I finally put it in the refrigerator to sit overnight

Love these! Moist and delicious. I’ve made them 3 times now. Love the cinnamon — both for fragrance and flavor. Easy to make. I increased the vanilla to 1 Tb for a bit more zoom. The only thing I would change is the name: these aren’t brownies — they are either blondies or bars.

These are addicting! I made the recipe as shown except I used Old-Fashioned Oats because I didn’t have the 1-Minute Oats. I used one cup of choco chips in batter but less than 1 cup sprinkled over the top. I meant to add nuts but forgot – anyway they tasted great and still taste great after sitting in airtight container for 6 days. Thanks for the recipe.

great recipe, will definitely make it in the future.

this is my 2nd time making these, turned out perfect last time

This recipe gets bonus points for how easy it is to throw together. I had to cook it a total of 28 minutes for it to be done (and my oven runs hot). And they turned out pretty good. I’m not sure I love the oatmeal texture – they are a little too “oatie”, but they’re not bad. I would probably make them again just because of how easy this recipe is. (PS – I used parchment paper, let them cool in the pan and then pulled them out by the paper – super easy to cut and nothing stuck to the pan.)

This one’s a keeper. You don’t even taste the oatmeal since it’s quite chewy. I used only 1 cup of chocolate chips. 1/2 with the dough and 1/2 as topping. I think 2 cups is a bit too much.
John Nunez
Excellent. We loved the hint of cinnamon..

4.5 I just made these today and, so far so good! I couldn’t wait and tried them while still warm! I cooked them in a glass pan and probably added 3-5 more minutes. They seemed soft in the middle which is fine, but I don’t like the idea of not cooking the eggs not cooking completely. Most of these are part of a Father’s Day gift and to use as a dipper with chocolate fondue. Also, I really wish I had remembered to buy milk chocolate chips and had to make do with semi-sweet chips. I also, in part of the batter, added different types of chips (mini, dark chocolate, and sea salt caramel.) Great recipe 🙂
