A fruit salad with this poppyseed dressing would be wonderful. really sweet and tangy.

Ingredients

  1. ½ cup white vinegar
  2. ⅓ cup white sugar
  3. 1 teaspoon grated onion
  4. 1 teaspoon ground dry mustard
  5. 1 teaspoon salt
  6. 1 cup vegetable oil
  7. 1 tablespoon poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Place vinegar, sugar, onion, mustard, and salt into a blender or food processor; blend for 20 seconds. With the blender running, gradually add oil in a thin steady stream until combined.
  2. Transfer dressing to a bowl and stir in poppy seeds.

I Love this dressing. It’s so easy. I’ve had so many compliments on my spinach salads using spinach, strawberries, apple, (or any fruits) and toasted sliced almonds. It’s my go to salad for potlucks. However I do substitute Apple Cider vinegar for the red wine vinegar.

This is the perfect recipe for a summer salad with strawberries, blueberries, candied pecans and goat cheese over mixed greens. I’ve subbed out some dijon for the dry mustard and it’s just as good.

So easy to make with ingrédients that you would normally have in your kitchen. Thanks to the many reviews I used half red wine vinegar and half cider vinegar. Also, cut back on half of the oil. Like many others, I préfère homemade salad dressings as they containers zéro cheminais or préservatives. It’s delicious and really costs so much less that grocery store dressings. Served mine over green salad with chopped up chicken thigh.

Great dressing for salad with strawberries. I used half rice vinegar and half white vinegar to cut the acidity and used half the sugar.

LOVE this dressing! We don’t use vegetable oil or sugar so I substituted bacon grease (we always seem to have tons of that leftover) and used monk fruit sweetener instead. Our version came out very vinegary/tangy (which we liked) but if you prefer a more mild dressing I’d recommend messing with the sweetener to vinegar ratio.

I love it! Although I cut the vinegar just a little this recipe is great for making green apple coleslaw! All you do is add julianed green apples And poppyseed dressing to a bag of coleslaw mix.

I didn’t have an onion on hand, so I made it without. Delicious! I used it to make a spinach strawberry salad and it was so good that everyone went back for seconds! Recipe makes a LOT – a full pint mason jar’s worth. I’ve read that vinaigrettes can stay in the fridge for 2 weeks, but I would be hard pressed to use it all up even then. I would make a much smaller amount next time.

Was really easy to put together. I used half olive oil and half canola oil. Put the poppy seeds in with the other ingredients (rather than after blinding. Stored in the fridge for a couple of hours and it was great.

Yum! I don’t do raw onion at all, so I subbed onion powder. I also used ‘extra smooth’ EVOO instead of vegetable oil and ACV instead of white vinegar. No food processor so I just stirred the heck out of it with a fork and it worked great. I put this on field greens, strawberries, and walnuts and it was amazing. Thank you!
