Heirloom Tomato Bruschetta

  5.0 – 1 reviews

Here is a slight variation on one of the tastiest-looking movie meals, which was inspired by the film Julie and Julia. The heirloom tomato mixture should not be combined with the bread unless you and your guests are ready to enjoy the bruschetta right away since it will get soggy. Serve the bread on a separate serving dish and the tomato sauce in a separate bowl. You should be ready to get a little messy!

Ingredients

  1. 1 pound small heirloom tomatoes, halved
  2. ¼ cup chopped fresh basil
  3. 2 tablespoons truffle-infused olive oil (such as Olevano)
  4. kosher salt and ground black pepper to taste
  5. 2 tablespoons olive oil, or more as needed
  6. 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  7. 1 French baguette, cut into 1-inch-thick slices
  8. 1 clove garlic, peeled and halved

This was very good! I only used the chopped garlic. I did not add the sliced garlic and it was still very good!!!! Yes it will get messy but it is so good a definite summer treat when the tomatoes of the season are in full swing!
