the liquid ran over the pan in the oven, even with it covered with foil. made a mess in the oven, set the smoke alarm off too.. other than that it was good, it was done ahead of time. I would add a little less milk or just do the whole thing in a skillet next time.

I love this dish and love to make it for friends and family and is always a hit! My 8 year old even loves it! I have been making it for over 10 years and always keep the ingredients on hand to make. This is great leftover, just add a splash of mik before heating and she fresh fried onions. The original fried onions will work too, but the flavor of the cheddar fried onions really brings out all the flavors. Don’t pass on this recipe, making this tonight!

The recipe was delicious as written, no changes are needed.

Good recipe. Followed reciepe as written except i added a cup of sliced carrots. Had to add 30 minutes to the covered cook time to get pasta tender. Also used four pepper smoked sausage which gave it a little spice. Will make again.

my pasta came out Raw. I double the recipe because I have 4 boys and we ended up ordering pizza. added 30 more minutes and still pasta was raw.

So delicious and easy. I only used two cups of milk. I used frozen kale since it was the only frozen veggie I had on hand. I also used mozzarella cheese in the mixture and an Italian mix of cheese for the top. I also used breadcrumbs on the top and did not used fried onions (just didn’t have them on hand). I did put sautéed onions in the mixture just because my family loves onion. The whole family (even my young kids) gobbled this right up. I will definitely keep this recipe.

This is terrible! Followed recipe to a T and it came out w in th most of the pasta still uncooked! Never thickened up at all. It was very runny and quite off putting!

Everyone loved it. Yes, I will make it again.

Delicious! I made it as the recipe is written, only adding a can of mushrooms to the mix. Everything came out perfect! I had no issues with excess liquid or uncooked pasta, and it tasted fantastic. This one is going into rotation for sure!

I will definitely make this again! My husband isnt big on peas, so I substituted fresh green pepper sliced thinly, it was awesome, gave it a little kick, otherwise I didn’t change a thing.

I used mini bowtie pasta & half & half instead of milk. I didn’t have shredded cheddar so I used smoked Gouda. I also didn’t have french fried onions so I crunched up some Cheeze-its. Hubby said it was delicious & please make it again!

I made this for dinner last night. My fiancé said to add it to one of his favorite dishes. He is a picky eater. I didn’t have any French fried onions so that was left out. Next time I will try it with them. I did add a little garlic powder to the sausage as I browned it. Thank you for the recipe. 5 stars for ease, flavor & not a lot of ingredients. I usually have most of that on hand at any time.

I’ve doubled the meat will make it again

Instead of using penne I used egg noodles. I also doubled the recipe since our family is quite large. I had to almost triple the cook time to get the noodles done. I will make it again but I’ll cook the noodles ahead of time.

very good.

First time making it, I’ve let it cook 30 minutes per directions & the pasta wasn’t done so I’m letting it cook another 15 minutes & we’ll see if it cooks all the way through. If I make this again I will par boil the pasta & then mix everything together.

I swapped the cheddar for a pizza-blend shredded cheese. (I also went a little heavy on the cheese too..) It was delicious!

This was an awesome recipe! I did change a few things however! Instead of using pasta I substituted potatoes in! I added salt and pepper and cooked it a longer just to make sure the potatoes got done. It’s delicious and creamy! I will be making this again! 🙂

Made as written. 4 stars for ease of assembly and common ingredients normally on hand. We thought it was a little bland. Next time, I’ll spice it up a bit.
Hannah Wood
Followed the recipe but I used small penne pasta. I used Cheddar and mozerella & Cooked it in a convection oven in a Motorhome and cooked it for 55 minutes. It is deilish! We will definitely have this again.

This was better than I expected. (I’m always wary of easy recipes). I omitted the cheese (I don’t NEED it) and only used about 1/4 or so of the pasta. I sub mixed vegs for the peas and only had about 3/4 cup fried onions, which I stirred all into the dish. It turned out nice and saucy. I may add a bit more veggies next time.
