Amazing summer corn chowder may be made using this recipe. Every time I make it, I usually tweak it; it just keeps getting better and better!

Ingredients
- 2 cucumbers, sliced
- 2 tomatoes, sliced
- ¼ onion, chopped
- 1 cup creamy salad dressing (such as Miracle Whip®), or more to taste
- 2 tablespoons white sugar, or to taste
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Combine cucumbers, tomatoes, onion, creamy salad dressing, sugar, salt, and black pepper in a salad bowl. If salad seems too sweet, add more salad dressing; if too tart, add more sugar. Chill before serving.
- My Grammy never used a recipe and didn’t own measuring cups or spoons, so this is a rough estimate of what I usually use when I make this. You really have to just guess and check until you find the right combination. A nice way to cut down on the calories and fat is to use light salad dressing.

Followed the “directions” by just adding what looked right. Also added some radishes and small, sweet peppers – just because we had these in the garden. Loved it.
Easy, and very tasty.
This was very tasty.
I loved this salad. It was refreshing and tasted great with our Mediterranean Chicken Dish adding just the right amount of sweetness to an otherwise savory meal. Enjoy!
Taste Great! Prefect for summer Salad Lunch. Very cool yet satisfying. Try it you won’t regret it.
This recipe is right on, reminds me of my Grandmothers cucumbers, although I believe she added a few teaspoons of vinegar. Loved this
Really good but I goofed and used too much sugar . So I added a splashed of vinegar and some dill weed. Turned out wonderful. I will make this again for sure
Soooooo good!
It was a little tangy. Probably use mayonnaise next time and a little more sugar. Salad dressing just too tart. Like the combination, so summery
This was a quick and easy salad. Very tasty! I used mayonnaise and red onions, 1 English cucumbers and 2 field/beefsteak tomatoes. I also added about 1 tsp. of Apple cider vinegar. Everyone liked it, there were no leftovers.
Ok, I like to go by the recipe the first time around and rate just the recipe, so there the reason for the 3 stars. If I were to make again I would first half all the slices as they are too big of pieces for a nice bite. Halfway through eating the salad I thought it just soso, so I had to add some celery salt and some dill which helped it. This brought it up to a 4 I guess. I’ve add several other cucumber recipes from this site that were much better so I’ll stick to them.
This is a great recipe; my husband doesn’t care for cucumbers and he couldn’t get enough of this salad. It is best when made a day ahead, and the dressing is very similar to a potato salad dressing my Mom made many years ago. I added 1/2 Tblsp of fresh lemon juice, a dash of wine vinegar and used Vidalia onions. I peeled the tomatoes and only used 1 Tblsp of sugar. It’s a winner!
Delicious and SO easy! I may try English cucumbers next time, and will blot the tomatoes dry as I think that will help lower the water content a bit. Even BETTER on day 2! Thanks for sharing!
Put more onion and two more tomatoes and only 1 tablespoon of sugar
Loved this salad crisp and tasty. I added celery salt instead of regular salt for another level of flavor
very soggy
I love this salad! One of my favorites!!
excellent
The recipe is great, but I used sour cream with a dash of vinegar. I learned that if you take out the seeds of the tomato and cucumbers the salad will last longer because of less water.
Love this salad. Can’t get enough.
Great basic recipe, season to your own taste.
