The Best Chicken Salad Ever

  4.7 – 247 reviews

In Sweden, waffles are a very popular dish for both street food and coffee shops. Since “Vrfrudagen” (Lady Day) in Swedish sounds quite similar to “vffeldagen,” which became Waffle Day, we only eat them on the Feast of the Annunciation. Unlike American and Belgian waffles, these don’t have eggs and are more crispier and lighter. With whipped cream, fresh fruit, or jam, serve right away.

The cole slaw dressing is what makes it. Very good taste.

This is awesome…but I cheated a bit. I use Rotisserie Chicken and cut it up. Sautéed Celery and onion a bit to tone down any strong flavor as some reviews the onion was too strong. (Still kept the crunch) I added some salt and pepper and parsley flakes. I used Mayo and Marzetti slaw dresssing. This is simple and Delish…. Rip Rutkowski Shawnee Ks.

This chicken salad is quite good. I smoked the chicken breasts for 25 minutes then cooked them on the smoker. I cut into chunks just because that’s my preference. I took it out on the boat and served it on Pita bread and everyone loved it. This recipe is a keeper.

This is a good recipe for chicken salad. It is perfect for finger sandwiches, mini croissants or with Ritz crackers. It spreads easily and is delicious. I used only one medium onion slice and it was just right. A 1/4 onion seemed a bit much. Marzetti’s cole slaw dressing and Miracle Whip worked out well for this recipe.

Followed the directions when making this. It turned out okay but I don’t think I will make this again.

My favorite CS was made by HILSHIRE FARMS, who stopped, or have gone out of buisness, idk. I was on a mission to make it myself, as close as possible. THIS IS AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE. AND IT IS AMAZING! I 1st made exactly as written, w the veggies left in large pieces bc I’m not a fan of raw onion. It was delicious, but I have tweeted to MY personal pallette, instead of raw onion, I use minced or powder. After smoothing out the consistency I toss in some chopped pecan for a nice crunch, and dried Cranberries for little pops of flavor, and of course, fresh cracked Black Peppercorn. This recipe is winner winner chicken dinner!

Yup, it was the best Chicken Salad ever. I bought a package of hand shredded rotisserie chicken from COSTCO. It was perfect because it was already shredded and cooked. I just added the other ingredients and mixed in my mixer. I doubled the recipe since it was a little over 2 lbs of chicken. My family loved it and I shared it with my parents. They asked for the recipe as well.

I made it following the recipe exactly, It was really bland and I didn’t care for it. I added sweet relish and a little more Miracle whip because it was lacking flavor and that did the trick, it turned out really good!

It was very good. I don’t like my chicken salad with too much creamy dressing and these measurements were perfect.

Very good. I made my own coleslaw dressing from a recipe on this site and used 1/2 C. Also added a scant 1/2C of mayo since I didn’t have salad dressing. I usually add relish to chicken salad but was out so left as is. I will use this recipe from now on.

So good! Make this every spring as soon as the Vidalia onions hit the shelves!

Love this recipe. Some times I add grapes and apples.

I rated it 5 stars because of its simplicity and taste, but have to confess I made some substitutions based on ingredients I had on hand. I substituted green onions(mostly green parts) for celery bcos I had none. I used only Ranch salad dressing and added a pinch of minced deseeded mild green chili. It tasted great and I am sure the original recipe will too. I used rotisserie chicken breasts.

This chicken salad recipe is my new favorite! This is as close to my grandmother’s recipe as I’ve found and it’s the new standard for our house. I will say the flavors take at least an hour or two to develop but it’s well worth the wait! I followed this recipe to a T.

I used 1/3 cupcole slaw dressing and a couple tablespoons of mayo. I also cut up a rotisserie chicken, which I think added to the flavor. And left it in small cubed pieces. I didn’t purée all the ingredients together. I like my chicken salad chunky, not like tuna fish. Delicious! I also split the chicken salad and added two tablespoons of curry paste, raisins and sliced almonds for curried chicken salad. That too was delicious!
