Simple and Flavorful Balsamic Vinaigrette

My mother made this casserole for Christmas morning every year.

Ingredients

  1. ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
  2. 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  3. 1 teaspoon white sugar
  4. 1 clove garlic, minced
  5. ½ teaspoon salt
  6. freshly ground black pepper to taste
  7. ½ cup extra-virgin olive oil

Instructions

  1. Whisk vinegar, mustard, sugar, garlic, salt, and black pepper together in a small bowl until sugar and salt are dissolved. Add oil in a thin stream, whisking continually until emulsified. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.
  2. If storing leftover dressing, use a non-reactive container and shake well or whisk before next use.

So easy to make with ingredients I always have on hand. No need to buy vinaigrette when you can whip this up in minutes. I eat salad almost every day, so this was a very tasty change to my usual dressing.
