Yum!! We served this over couscous and it was great! I probably used more teriyaki sauce than it called for and it made a nice sauce. I used a cast iron skillet and the veggies just barely fit but it worked — I just had to stir very carefully! Will definitely make again.
meh not that good to oily
Good base, but I added 1 ginger, 2 more sesame oil, 3 Red pepper flakes, 4 cashews, 5 sesame seeds, 6 olive oil/soy sauce/cayenne sauce to add some character and flavor. Turned out great! Skip the Teriyaki…
it ws great the 3 kids and husband LOVED it. i added a sm. ginger root finely minced, like pre minced garlic. i used dark sesame oil,2 &half tab spoons, bok choy, half a head, watercrests, babycorn, medley bag of carrots, broccli, califlower, tab. spoon and a half soy sauce,1 FULL BOTTLE OF STORE BOUGHT STIRFRY SAUCE,sugar snap peapods,1 half large white onion, diced small, one shallot and about 4Lbs chicken. i have a family of 5.LOL. I COOKED IT IT A BIG ELECTRIC SKILLET, FILLED TO THE BRIM. AND ALL WAS EATEN THAT NIGHT. IT WAS DELICIOUS! I call it Trina’s american chicken stirfry. garuntee whole family will love it. sounds like alot of work but prep time 25,2 30 min. and cook time 20min. it’s soo worth it though ur family doesn’t relize their eating healthy veggies, maybe somr they’ve never had! but it’s a HUGE family pleaser
Missing the amount of teriyaki sauce. and 2T of sesame oil is just toooo much!
I have added & omitted vegetables to our liking to make this recipe an all time favorite.
The instructions call for adding “the teriyaki sauce”. There is no teriyaki sauce listed in the ingredient list. Without it, the only seasoning is sesame oil. The chinese are known for the sauces they put on stir fry’s. Sesame oil is almost never used alone in chinese cooking. For all who tried the recipe and loved it, I think it would have been overwhelmingly toasted/smokey tasting and bland with no salt component.
This recipe is one I’ll make over and over again because of how quick and delicious it is! The sesame oil gives the meat a nice nutty flavor. One thing I like to do is add water chestnuts for crunch, and I add more teriyaki sauce than the recipe calls for. Mmmmm, craving some right now!
blan taste
Simple and tasty meal. Great for beginners that want results and encouragement to continue learning. Onyl thin is they don’t tell you how much teriyaki sauce to use – I used 3/4 -1 cup to taste 🙂
