Yield: 8 to 9 biscuits

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups flour
  2. 1 tablespoon baking powder
  3. Kosher salt
  4. 1 teaspoon paprika
  5. 1 teaspoon onion powder
  6. 1 cup milk
  7. 1/2 cup butter, melted
  8. 8 strips bacon, cooked until crispy and crumbled
  9. 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  10. 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 425 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl add the flour, baking powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, paprika, and onion powder. Mix to blend then make a well in the center of the bowl and add the milk, butter, bacon and cheese. Mix gently with a wooden spoon. The dough will be wet and sticky. Using a 1/4 cup measure or ice cream scoop, portion the batter onto a baking sheet, leaving an inch or so around each biscuit.
  3. In a small bowl, beat the egg with a splash of water and then brush this mixture on the top of each biscuit. Bake in the oven until the biscuits are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center of one comes out clean, 20 to 22 minutes.

I do not like your app because you can’t print your recipes. It’s a total waste of time.

These were delicious, I used garlic powder in place of onion powder, a teaspoon of taco seasoning instead of paprika. Gave it great flavor!

I used garlic and onion powder as well as the bacon grease and some dried chives. I added enough melted butter to the bacon grease to bring the total to half a cup. Also, I used whole milk as I do for all bread recipes.

Mmmmmmbacon..

Great recipe! We didn’t have cheddar cheese, and substituted Italian cheese instead. They turned out beautifully. We also decided to add a little honey on top of some, and butter on top of others. Yum!

I made these once for our church,s hospitality and they were such a hit that now when I don’t bring them everyone complains lol. I quadruple the ingredients and it works great.
