Ham pressure cooker dish that is simple to make. With just a few ingredients and a ham I can quickly prepare dinner by removing it from the freezer and placing it in the Instant Pot.

Ingredients
- 1 (2 pound) frozen whole ham
- 1 (16 ounce) can crushed pineapple
- ¼ cup dark brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons water, or as needed
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Instructions
- Place ham on a trivet and set it inside a multi-functional pressure cooker (such as Instant Pot). Pour crushed pineapple over ham, then sprinkle with brown sugar and drizzle with maple syrup. Close and lock the lid. Select high pressure according to the manufacturer’s instructions; set the timer for 35 minutes. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for pressure to build.
- Release pressure using the natural-release method according to the manufacturer’s instructions, 10 to 40 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 145 degrees F (63 degrees C) for fresh ham or 140 degrees F (60 degrees C) for pre-cooked ham.
- Remove ham and trivet. Cut ham into slices and place onto a serving plate.
- Select the Sauté function on the pressure cooker. Mix water and cornstarch together in a small bowl; pour into the cooker and stir to combine with sauce. Bring to a boil; cook and stir until thickened. Pour over ham.

So good. Made it with chilli garlic roasties and sprouts. All ready in well under an hour. A triumph!
This recipe saved my bacon tonight (pun fully intended)! I followed the recipe pretty much as written except I added 2 T. of water before sealing the Instant Pot and I had to use commercial pancake syrup in place of maple syrup. It was very tasty, made my 1.4 kg ham in the time indicated, and the sauce was very good. I’ll definitely be using this recipe again.
Good
So thankful to find this excellent recipe for a frozen ham. I didn’t have pineapple so I added 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar and 1/2 cup water. I also used honey instead of maple syrup. The ham was very tender and delicious. It took about 30 minutes for a natural release but I’m sure this time varies according to the ingredients used.
Had no honey, but did have maple syrup…. works just as well!
I’m rather impressed with having a frozen ham into a cooked ham in a short amount of time. I had pineapple rings on hand which worked just perfect. I would recommend more cornstarch for a thicker sauce, but that’s a preference thing. Would make again and could fit an even bigger ham if needed.
