Great Grandma’s Peach Cobbler

It’s simple to make this cold salad, which is perfect for preparing healthier options for the week’s lunches or snacks. I enjoy giving Thai peanut sauce a kick by blending in some sriracha or chili garlic paste.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 45 mins
Total Time: 55 mins
Servings: 8
Yield: 1 9-inch cobbler

Ingredients

  1. 1 (29 ounce) can sliced peaches in juice, drained, reserving juice
  2. 1 cup self-rising flour
  3. 1 cup white sugar
  4. 1 egg
  5. ½ cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Arrange peach slices in a 9-inch round baking dish. Pour about half the reserved peach juice on top; discard remaining juice. Beat egg, flour, and sugar in a bowl until combined; pour over peaches. Drizzle melted butter over the flour mixture.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 45 minutes.

Just like my Grandmother used to make!

One of the best and easiest recipes I have come across. I enjoyed the crispy top of the crust along with the creaminess of the underside on top of the peaches. This will be my go to recipe!

This is the best and easiest cobbler I have found. Don’t worry about the batter being dry, just distribute it evenly over the top. You can use plain flour if you don’t have self rising, I don’t even make adjustments. It just comes out slightly dense and crisper, not a problem. Great with any fruit, fresh peaches, blackberries, blueberries.

I have set the bar really high with my Texas family, with this cobbler recipe! Really delicious and really easy. I followed the recipe exactly.

So easy and SOOOO good. Put it all together in the morning, then covered and kept in the fridge until desert time, then popped it in the oven. Extremely popular at my Memorial Day pool party, straight out of the oven with Breyer’s vanilla bean ice cream

I followed this recipe exactly as directed and it turned out beautifully! Delicious!

I was confused when I mixed it by the directions and it was so crumbly, thinking I did something wrong I added another egg because mine were fresh and tiny and a splash of milk to make it wetter. I also sprinkled a tiny bit of cinnamon and nutmeg. I was worried it would be runny- but it wasn’t- husband loved it.

first time always per recipe…second time alterations use frozen peaches with Torani syrup(1/2cup or so)…so much better than canned peaches…have also used blueberries, apples, and big cherries…great crust recipe

I have diabetes so I made mine with “no sugar added” canned peaches with Splenda, 9 carbs per serving. I also reduced the sugar to half a cup of brown sugar. For good measure I tossed in about a dozen blueberries. Wow was this good, I’m sure I’ll be making this again soon.

Easy and delicious! I buy canned peaches just so I can make this 🙂

This is truly a delicious dish! However, I have made it twice now and both times, without fail I mistakenly mixed the melted butter into the flour mix don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t mess up the dish in my opinion by I would like to make it like the instructions say to make it. How knows? Maybe I’ll like it even more!

It is a quick and simple, yummy peach cobbler! I did sprinkle some cinnamon in my flour topping mixture. That was the only change. It is a keeper!

The only thing I did different was add cinnamon on top of the peaches and the crust. It was delicious! I tried to take a picture right out of the oven but my husband got to it when I stepped out of the room. He said it’s the best he’s had and that’s saying a lot because he is from the south 🙂 try it you won’t be disappointed. I used salted butter the perfect amount of salt against vanilla ice cream.

I used apples and cinnamon sugar – delish

Easy and yummy peach cobbler. The only thing I changed was to use only half the sugar and I added a dash of cinnamon to the dough, it was plenty sweet to me. And oh sooo buttery.

Delicious

Cut the sugar in half, could taste the peaches then.

This recipe was very good. I did use half of the sugar called for; 1/4 c white and 1/4 c brown and sprinkled cinnamon on the peaches too. That was the perfect sweetness.

Looks great , didn’t have self rise flour added 1-1/2. teaspoons of baking powder and 1/4 t. Himalayan salt also added little cinnamon and little vanilla . Oiled my skillet with olive oil..simple receipe .Now for the taste , yum. Not too sweet just right.
