Worked for me, the sauce did thicken, i put a bit less sugar even and didn’t even need all 30min, sauce was thick and it had reduced
I’ve made this recipe a ton of times. It’s a hit with my friends. The only thing I do differently is I fry the wings naked. Then, I simmer them in the sauce.
Thank you for a TREMENDOUS recipe! The hubs and I LOVED IT! I did make 2 changes – since we try to keep our simple carbs on the low side, I used Lakanto sweetner instead of sugar, and I also used a few shakes of Sesame Oil when I test-tasted the wonderful sauce, as it had a decided Thai flavor. I saved the leftover sauce for another day. SO GOOD!
DELICIOUS! So easy to make!
I’ve made this recipe repeatedly as Shannon wrote it, for years, and it is delicious!!!
The wings were wonderful. So tender and delicious.
This was absolutely delicious and my family loved it. The only thing I did differently was to sprinkle the wings with onion powder and garlic powder before cooking. Will be making this my go to wings recipe. Thank you!
Was delicious! Love the sauce! The only thing I did was season my chicken wings with a few spice’s no salt seasoning, basil, parsley! The wings caramelized great! Will be fixing them again! So easy to make! Thanks for a great recipe!
I’m going to say that you need to do the joints also, if you have ever eaten chicken feet the wing joint is better.
Super easy to make. Delicious and great flavor
my husband like sweet meals
Very good look’n chicken!! I made white rice to add to the dinner plate. I did broil for about 8 minutes then added back to pan and poured the juices back on top of chicken.
Make sure when you cook this, after you melt all the ingredients together on medium heat, you reduce the heat to a SIMMER! I walked away to do something, only to come back and find the sauce burned and the meal a disaster. I’ll try it again, when I get more wings!
I made it exactly per instructions and it turned out far from the picture.
I used 15 wings instead of 12. I also took some of the advice from previous reviews and added a little bit of cornstarch and used 1/3 cup of sugar instead of 1/2. I seasoned the chicken with seasoning salt before hand but it made it slightly salty so if you’re not a fan of that, don’t do it. The sauce thickened for me but I admit I put it at a higher temp. When I let it simmer without the pot for the second 30 minutes it burned on the 15 minute mark, MAKE SURE TO FLIP THE CHICKEN IT WILL BURN. Also, this recipe doesn’t tell you that the peanut butter is impossible to stir in so it’s gonna look weird at first but it will turn out great. Overall, great tasty recipe, family said they liked it, will make it again. Very simple.
My family and I love this recipe. I normally make the recipe exactly as written but last night I substituted the chicken wings for hand-breaded, pan fried chicken breasts chunks that I pre-cooked and I added about 2t of crushed red pepper. I then tossed the chicken in the wings sauce along with steamed broccoli. I serviced over white rice and garnished with sesame seeds (I submitted a photo). If you ask my husband he’d say it was Generals Chicken. If you asked my son (13yo) he’d say it was boneless wings. If you ask me, I call it a success as they both had seconds.
Modified for chicken legs instead of wings. Made a great main dish for dinner!
Very good. I added red pepper flakes and a teaspoon of Thai red chili paste for a little heat to counter act the sweet. Thickened up the sauce a bit after the wings were cooked. Made a cornstarch and water slurry and stirred on medium high heat. Enjoyed them!
It’s true, this is really easy and super yummy. I started the recipe as per the instructions, but thought an hour to cook the chicken wings was a little bit too long. I cooked the wings for 15 minutes in the sauce, and then 15 minutes under the broiler to crisp them up. They were a big hit, and I will absolutely make them again.
I probably did something wrong, but I wasn’t dazzled. I like the idea an earlier poster had which recommended taking wings out when done, reducing the liquid and the nosing wings in thickened sauce. I ran out of time to try this and sauce was a little thin.
These were great. And easy. Made exactly like recipe with one small exception. No sesame seeds so I added red pepper flakes to sauce mixture for a little added heat. My brother loved them and asked for the recipe. Will be making these again.
