Furikake Ahi with Cilantro Dip

Ingredients

  1. 1 1/2 cups furikake spice
  2. Four 8-ounce ahi steaks (yellowfin or big eye tuna)
  3. Butter, for searing
  4. 2 cups mayonnaise, preferably Best Foods
  5. 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  6. 2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger
  7. 1 tablespoon olive oil
  8. 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, preferably Lea & Perrins
  9. 1 bunch fresh cilantro
  10. Juice of 1 lemon plus lemons, for garnish
  11. Serving suggestions: rice and salad

Instructions

  1. For the tuna: Put furikake spice on a large plate, then coat the ahi on both sides with furikake.
  2. Preheat a nonstick pan, then add butter. Sear ahi steaks on both sides, 10 to 15 seconds per side for rare to medium-rare.
  3. For the cilantro dip: Combine mayonnaise, garlic, ginger, oil, Worcestershire, cilantro and lemon juice in a food processor.
  4. Serve tuna with rice, salad and the cilantro dip.
