Level: Easy
Total: 40 min
Active: 10 min
Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  1. 1 1/2 cups panko
  2. 5 tablespoons vegetable oil
  3. 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan
  4. 2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
  5. Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  6. Four 3/4-inch bone-in pork chops (about 2 1/4 pounds)
  7. Lemon wedges, for serving, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
  2. Combine the panko, oil, Parmesan, Italian seasoning and 3/4 teaspoon each salt and pepper in a large resealable plastic bag. Put the pork chops in a large bowl and toss to coat with 1 tablespoon water. Place the pork chops in the bag and shake well to coat, pressing the breadcrumb mixture firmly into the meat.
  3. Place the pork chops on a wire rack set on a baking sheet and top evenly with any breadcrumbs remaining in the bag. Bake until the breadcrumbs are dark golden and the internal temperature of the chops registers 145 degrees F on an instant-read thermometer (avoid touching bone), 15 to 20 minutes.
  4. Serve immediately with lemon wedges if using.

Been doing this now about a year at least once a month – one of our favs. I don’t do the seasoning bag thing, I just spray them with canola oil and ad the layers of seasoning and re-spray again and then press the seasoning, the parm and the panko down with my hand. Always good and tasty!

Cook longer than the recipe calls for. Use Italian seasoning garlic and onion powder and smoked paprika. Great flavor and easy to make.

Was easy to fix but I agree, had little taste and had to cook a little longer.
Laura Lambert
Undercooked. Little flavor. Waste of expensive meat.

Very easy recipe. Great taste and very moist. I added some garlic salt just because. The topping was crispy, but I needed to cook 10 min longer to get the internal temperature correct. Definitely will make again.

Delicious and very easy to make. The pork was moist and tender and crunchy on the outside. Will make it again!

My family loved it. Husband says, “Very tasty, moist and tender.” Video was helpful. Oh, I baked the chops at 400 F because I was baking sweet potatoes at the same time. Not a problem. Good recipe. I will be making it again. Thanks for all of your reviews, I read them.
