Teriyaki Salmon Strips

Ingredients

  1. 1 1/2 cups teriyaki sauce, divided
  2. 1 cup water
  3. 10 ounces king salmon, cut into 1-ounce strips
  4. 10 bamboo skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
  5. 2 tablespoons canola oil
  6. 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  7. 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a non-reactive shallow pan, mix together 1 cup teriyaki sauce and 1 cup water for a marinade. Place the salmon on the pre-soaked skewers and marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a grill pan or non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Grill the skewers for 3 minutes on each side for medium, or 5 minutes on each side for well done.
  3. Arrange the skewered salmon in a star-like pattern. Generously drizzle 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce over the skewers. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.

nice marinade. As for the nasty comment about washing the meat – this is so unnecessary. As a matter of fact, if we’re speaking of sanitation here, you spread bacteria to your sink, faucet, and who-knows-where-else doing that. If you’re cooking the food (as in this recipe) it is not necessary to wash it. Don’t be so paranoid kitchen queen and expose yourself to a few germs every now and again – you get sick less often if you do.

You need to start washing your meats before you cook them, Mrs. Sandra Lee thats nasty sweetie! I was watching your show and saw yo butt drop some ribs into the pot straght from the tray it came from and not washing them first, I know you don”t think all the meats that you cook are already clean? why in the hell you do that? “SANITATION”, boo lets start practicing it, Ok?

We are trying to add more fish meals to our dinners and this was an easy addition. I did place my salmon in a ziplock bag with the marinade and allowed to set for a couple of hours in the fridge. I also did it with out the skewers and in a skillet on the stove top which made it easier for me. Good flavor and quick!

Very good, made it without the skewers in a frying pan; salmon stuck a little to the bottom but it was delicious! I added chopped garlic to it too

Teriyaki was great. Next time I will make with a brown rice or plain vegetable to allow the salmon flavor to be the focus of the meal.
