Tequila Grapefruit Martini

Ingredients

  1. 8 ounces silver tequila, such as Herradura
  2. 4 ounces pink grapefruit juice, plus more for the rims
  3. 2 ounces dry vermouth
  4. 10 dashes grapefruit bitters
  5. 1 tiny splash fresh orange juice
  6. Sanding sugar, for the rims
  7. Candied grapefruit rind, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine the tequila, grapefruit juice, vermouth, bitters and orange juice in a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice and shake well.
  2. Dip the rims of martini or coupe glasses in grapefruit juice and then in sanding sugar. Strain the cocktail into the glasses and garnish with candied grapefruit rind. Serve immediately.

Fantastic for Sunday morning brunch  – or Hanukkah or Christmas or Thanksgiving – or any other day of the week that you want to relax.  Also, good for after dinner.
