Ingredients
- 1 head garlic
- 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon champagne vinegar
- Kosher salt
- 6 8-ounce Angus beef patties
- Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce, plus more for serving
- 12 thin slices fresh mozzarella cheese (about 8 ounces)
- 6 crusty rolls, such as ciabatta, kaiser or Portuguese, halved
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350.
- Make the butter: Remove the papery outer layer from the head of garlic and slice off the top to expose the cloves slightly. Wrap the garlic in foil and roast in the oven until soft, about 45 minutes. Cool slightly, then squeeze the roasted pulp into a bowl. Whip with the butter, parsley, vinegar and 1/2 teaspoon salt; set aside.

Cool slightly, then squeeze the roasted pulp into a bowl. Whip with the butter, parsley, vinegar and 1/2 teaspoon salt; set aside.
- Make the burgers: Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high. Season the beef patties generously with salt and pepper and grill, about 3 minutes per side for medium-rare, turning once.
- Move the burgers to the cooler side of the grill (or reduce the heat on the stove) and top each with some marinara sauce and 2 slices cheese. Spread the cut sides of each roll with some of the garlic butter and place facedown on the grill. Cover and cook until the cheese melts and the buns are toasted, 1 to 2 minutes. Place a burger on each roll bottom; add some chopped basil and the roll top. Serve with more marinara sauce, if desired.

Reviews
I didn’t find this burger to be anything special, similar to a chicken Parmesan sandwich but more messy
Like the president it’s named after, ummm not very good….
I love this Beef Burger as much as I Love Senator John McCain’s Beef Burger. This may be what Hunny calls,”hoity toity”.Yet,the Flavours are a Balance of Deliciousness on My Palate.Dems/Reps as long as the food is This Good, I am Switzerland.A really good Burger. Champagne Vinegar Does make a difference.Leaveing ingredients out creates Someone Else’s Beef Burger.Tastes/Looks Good.Every layer combines to make a great bite every time.
Need to focus on the quality of food and not politics
Putting politics aside, (Since this is a FOOD website…) I thought this burger was really good! I added some oregano to the meat, but otherwise followed the recipe. I loved the garlic-buttered buns, and I can’t wait for leftovers tonight!
I thought this was very good. Followed the recipe exactly except I steamed Kaiser rolls and added muenster cheese to the meat. The kids loved it also. People are so ridiculous when it comes to Barack O. Just give it a rest and rate the recipes fairly. If you find out that he likes creamed spinach or spaghetti carbonara, will you go and rate those recipes with 1 star also? Grow up.
The only thing that should be reviewed here is THE BURGER. There are plenty of blogs, websites for sharing unsolicited political views. This is the FOOD NETWORK people! With that said, I found this recipe to be okay, not great, but okay.
Not a bad burger, but tasted more Italian (almost like a burger parmesan) than pizza-y.
This burger is awesome! Don’t listen to those 1-star reviews, they weren’t even reviewing the burger!!!
I made this burger for my family and the burger was absolutely delicious!I’ve had pizza burgers before but I never used garlic butter on the roll. My boys can’t wait until I make this burger again.
I thought we were supposed to review the recipe, not the actual candidate. However, I think our new President was definitely the best choice.
