Sauteed Okra with Cumin

Ingredients

  1. 6 tablespoons (3/4 stick) unsalted butter
  2. 1 1/2 pounds okra, stems trimmed, washed
  3. 1 teaspoon salt
  4. 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  5. 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin

Instructions

  1. Melt butter over high heat in a medium saute pan. Saute okra with all seasoning 2 to 3 minutes. Reduce heat to moderate and cook, stirring occasionally, an additional 5 minutes. Serve hot.

I love Okra, but I didn’t think this recipe did any special to the okra that made it pop.
