Reviews
Great recipe, but I suggest doubling the juice portion.
For those of you who don’t have access to a blood orange tree, You will have to buy the oranges at the grocery store. and squeeze the juice yourself.
Easy but its hard to find the juice
Where would I find blood orange juice?
My favorite drink! Perfect proportions! I want a blood orange tree!!
Yummo
Very good. Not too sweet, not too tart. Another reviewer mentioned sugaring the rim, but I wouldn’t recommend that. I think it would sour the taste of the drink off. Also, use high quality vodka and you won’t have to worry about the alcohol taste being too strong. Martinis are not the time to get cheap with your booze.
Fabulous! Made just as suggested. This is a difficult drink to find in restraurants. I had one for the first time at the Waterman Grille in Providence, RI in May. It may be their signature drink. I have had a taste for one since – then found the Blood Orange Mix at Home Goods. A very tasty and pretty drink!
For a fruiter taste, swap orange vodka for the plain vodka in the recipe. Decreases the rubbing alcohol taste. Also sugar the rim for a perfect presentation!
Served using this recipe during a Christmas party. Everyone really enjoyed the taste but the color intrigued everyone.
