Ingredients

  1. 4 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
  2. 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  3. Zest from 1/2 lemon plus 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  4. 10 caramels, unwrapped
  5. 2 Granny Smith apples, sliced
  6. 1 Gala apple, sliced
  7. 2 teaspoons sprinkles
  8. 1 cup potato chips, crumbled, optional

Instructions

  1. Mix the cream cheese, brown sugar and lemon zest and juice in a bowl until smooth. Transfer to a plastic bag and snip the corner to make about a 1/4-inch opening. Set aside.
  2. Add the caramels and 1 1/2 teaspoons water to a saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook, stirring, until the caramels are melted, 4 to 5 minutes. Arrange the apple slices fanned out and overlapping on a plate. Squeeze the cream cheese-lemon sauce on top. Drizzle the warm caramel over the apples and cream cheese sauce. Garnish with sprinkles and potato chips if using and serve immediately.
