Instructions

  1. To make a jar, just combine 1/2 cup rolled oats, 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed, 2/3 cup milk, 1/3 cup plain yogurt, 2 teaspoons brown sugar or maple syrup and a pinch each of salt and cinnamon in a small jar. Add your mix-ins (see below for some of our favorites), seal the jar and refrigerate overnight. In the morning, just open the jar, stir and add toppings.
  2. Mix-ins: 1/2 teaspoon orange zest and 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  3. Toppings: chopped mango and pomegranate seeds
  4. Mix-ins: 1 tablespoon sweetened cocoa powder and 1/4 cup chopped hazelnuts
  5. Toppings: chopped hazelnuts and chocolate
  6. Mix-ins: 1/4 cup freeze-dried strawberries (crushed) and 1/2 chopped banana
  7. Toppings: sliced strawberries

Perfect texture. I like maple and cinnamon, so I used Brown Cow Maple yogurt instead of plain. It really helps add to the flavor!
