My spouse and I found this to be a great alternative summer drink to (various) margaritas! My brother and sister-in-law law are picky drinkers and they also enjoyed it. It seemed to take longer to put the ingredients together than other drinks, so I only make this on warm holidays (we all have kids whom need supervising). I’m not a big fan of smokey drinks however the Mezcal was not over powering, and the cherries gave a sweet and tart taste making it fantastic.l!

I enjoyed this cocktail! If you like cherry, agave/smoke, and lime then this is for you. A great balance of tartness, acidity, and sweetness. I went a step further and threw in a shot of amaretto for good measure. I’ll be making this again.

Eh, this didn’t work for me. I tried it several times, and to me, tequila and cherry don’t go well together. There are plenty of other fruit flavors that work better with tequila. I didn’t serve this to any friends or party guests, so I can’t say what the “crowd” thought. But we won’t be trying this one again.
