Very tasty! Made this with homemade smoked salmon I put up last year. I did put about 2 cups of our chunked smoked salmon (which I chopped up in food processor) in the dip along with 2 slices of jalapeno that were put up with the salmon. I did use dried dill as that is what I had. Make it your own and as strong as you like!
I LOVE this recipe, and it is very easy to make! Friends love it and have asked for the recipe & asked me to make it again and again…I make the recipe as written, and have substituted dried dill for the fresh, I think it works just as well.
I’ve been making this dip for many years and we all love it! I double the amount of horseradish, but otherwise use all ingredients as listed. The only difference in preparation is that I fold in the diced salmon after mixing the other ingredients together. That way, the salmon stays in larger pieces. Also, I top the dish with a few bits of salmon, fresh dill and cracked black pepper for a pretty presentation. Such a simple and flavorful dip!
I had leftover Salmon that I smoked and thought, lets give Ina’s recipe a whirl. So glad I did, it is so simple and absolutely delicious. I added the salmon in small amounts after I blended all of the other ingredients so as to acquire our preferred taste, as well as retain some of the small pieces of the fish in the dip. But you be the judge…once you try it, you’ll be glad you did…and so will anyone else that tries it!
Maybe a more flavorful salmon would have helped. To me it tasted strongly of cream cheese.
Yum! I used a lighter fat cream cheese and substituted full fat yogurt for the sour cream. Next time I would add the salmon in bigger chunks and not use my blender to mix it in so it was chunkier. Spectacular dip!
I’ll use more salmon and horseradish next time, but this was so good!
I am making this for a party tomorrow thanks!
Ina Garten, you are my go to favorite Chef for wonderful recipes! I will be making your Smoked Salmon Dip for holidays and parties from now on. I didn’t have horseradish so I used wasabi instead. Easy and delicious! Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday season. Thank you : )*
it was really good really easy. Great to make for small get togethers. Definitely would make it again.
