- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup blueberries or whatever you’d like – raisins, cranberries, dried fruits
- Water
- Oil, for frying or grilling
Instructions
- Mix the dry ingredients and berries, then slowly mix in enough water to make a stiff dough. Roll it out (unrugged) or form it with your hands (rugged) and then either fry it in a bit of oil, bake it or you can even “GRILL IT!”. Brush the grill with oil. Grill it over medium heat, lid down for about 5 minutes per side, tops.

It was a delicious recipe, I added 1/2 cup of sugar to sweeten them just a touch and cooked them by frying….at the rate the husband is eating them, I don’t think there is going to be any left for the kids tomorrow!
bland and a waste of blueberries, though it was a fun novelty. I also made it after watching the episode.
I threw this together right after watching “Rugged Dude” and grilled it. We were munching it only 15 minutes after the episode finished. It was amazing. Definitely a keeper.
Made this after watching the episode. Seems like a versatile recipe for savory or sweet and handy as could be for camping. Will keep this one.
I just made this, but I used whole wheat flour instead of traditional white flour. It turned out wonderfully.
I tried this recipe right after the show aired. It turn out perfect and so easy. I will try it next time with savory herbs.
Three ingredients and water…what could be easier!
I cook it on the grill … olive oil on the grill on one side, olive oil on the bannock just before flipping.
Served hot with butter, peanut butter, jam etc.
