One year we lost to a ketchup and Coca-Cola recipe and it got me mad, so I cooked up this recipe.

Ingredients

  1. 1 1/2 cups of ketchup
  2. 2 tablespoons of worcestershire sauce
  3. 2 tablespoons of tabasco
  4. 3/4 cup brown sugar
  5. 1 tablespoon of cumin
  6. 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
  7. 1 tablespoon of pepper flakes
  8. 1 tablespoon of cayenne pepper
  9. 2 tablespoons of celery salt
  10. 1/4 cup dark molasses
  11. 1/4 cup Jack Daniels
  12. 1/3 cup maple syrup
  13. 1/4 cup apple juice
  14. 1 packet of Goya Sazon

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients, except the Jack Daniels, in a saucepan and heat slowly until the mixture turns ruby red about 10 min. Take off heat and add the Jack Daniels. Stir and enjoy over ribs.

TGI Fridays has absolutely nothing on this Jack Daniel’s sauce. Had a party and served ribs with 3 different sauces, this far and away was the hit of the party! My only modification was to cut the celery salt in half, as my wife hates celery salt. I eat this on ribs, chicken, pork, steak, you name it! Make alot when you make it, you won’t regret it.

Every time I use this on chicken wings, I get tons of complements. This sauce has such complex flavors, you can taste different components as you eat. I have had people say, “There’s a lot going on in there” and come back for more and more. It’s the best BBQ sauce I have ever had!

This sauce is fantastcic! It is super simple to make and tastes like it was made by a grand champion Bbqer. It’s so good it makes Memphis jealous.
