Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 sweet onions, sliced
- Kosher salt
- 4 Granny Smith apples, peeled and thinly sliced
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium-low heat. Add the onions and a pinch of salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, until tender and golden, 45 to 55 minutes. Add the apples, sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, the cinnamon and 3 tablespoons water. Cook, stirring, until the apples are caramelized, 10 to 15 minutes.
