Ingredients

  1. 1 (16 ounce) package small uncooked seashell pasta
  2. 1 ½ cups mayonnaise
  3. ½ cup milk
  4. 2 tablespoons pickle juice
  5. 2 teaspoons dried dill weed
  6. 1 teaspoon salt
  7. ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
  8. 2 (5 ounce) cans tuna packed in water, drained
  9. ½ cup chopped onion (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Place pasta in the pot, cook for 8 to 10 minutes, until al dente, and drain.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, milk, pickle juice, dill, salt, and pepper. Mix in tuna and onion. Toss with cooked pasta. Cover and refrigerate 1 to 2 hours before serving.

I love this recipe and added cooked frozen peas and pickle relish. The dill weed brings out the flavor and I served the tuna salad over lettuce.

Very refreshing on a hot summer day. I substituted the mayo and used Goat Milk Yogurt. I added Green Peas to it and let it sit over night in the refrigerator.

Made it a second time.. I’m using up older pasta to make way for the new. Added paprika and a lot more black pepper. Pickle juice this time too. Still no dill tho. Also subbed out half the mayo for plain Greek yogurt.

This is a great recipe. I love the dill I’m it. I also added 1 tsp. of pepper and no pickle juice. I also added a cup of celery which was great for its crunchiness. Will definitely make again this summer.

This hit the spot just right when I was craving pasta salad – despite the load of high fat mayo, I could at least pretend I was eating healthier as this isn’t packed with high fructose corn syrup like all the storebought ones are for reasons far beyond my understanding. I also added peas, and realized at the last minute that I didn’t have a jar of pickles in my fridge like I thought I did, so I subbed white vinegar and extra dill for the pickle juice, as well as adding a generous dash of garlic powder – turned out great! Unlike other reviewers I don’t find lots of dill overwhelming so I just dumped in plenty without measuring. 😉

Surprisingly, my kids have liked the dill, so I’ve added more dill weed and juice from dill pickles. In fact, I now keep jars of the juice after we finish pickles so I have extra flavoring for this recipe. My kids also like this with peas, so I often mix in frozen peas before letting the whole mixture sit in the fridge.

Easy. Loved it. My husband really liked the dill added. Second time I made it I added a couple chopped dill pickles and two hard boiled eggs. Really creamy and delicious for summer days

Yummy, but needed a little something extra. I added lemon juice, sweet relish and (thawed) frozen peas. Just right.

Made it according to directions except I used onion powder instead of onion. I have a very fussy eater in my house (so frustrating!) who doesn’t like the texture of real onion pieces. We all loved it, even though the pasta absorbed all the dressing. Any suggestions on how to keep it creamy would be appreciated. I can only think of boiling the pasta a couple of minutes more.
