Berry/Maple Syrup

Yield: about 2 1/2 cups

Ingredients

  1. 1 1/2 cups pure maple syrup
  2. 1 cinnamon stick
  3. 1 cup picked over berries, such as blackberries or strawberries, stemmed and
  4. halved or raspberries or blueberries

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan set over moderate heat combine the syrup with the cinnamon stick and simmer gently for 5 minutes. Add the berries and simmer for 1 minute. Remove and discard cinnamon stick.

Can this recipe be made with fresh/frozen cranberries and can I use regular syrup vs pure maple syrup?
