- Two 11-ounce packages caramels, unwrapped
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 4 green apples
- Crushed chocolate sandwich cookies, such as Oreos
- Chocolate sauce
- Chopped salted peanuts
- Sea salt
- Crushed cereal, such as Fruity Pebbles
- Mini white chocolate chips
- Broken-up candy bars
- Mini candy-coated chocolates, such as M and M’s
- Brown sugar

Instructions
- Combine the caramels, cream, butter and vanilla in a small slow cooker. Cook on low, stirring every 20 minutes, until the mixture is melted, about 1 hour.
- Core the apples and slice into eighths. Skewer the ice-pop sticks into the apple slices. Dip the apple slices into the caramel sauce, letting excess drip off, then dip into the toppings of choice.
- For a cookies and cream flavor, Marcela coats the apples with crushed cookies and chocolate sauce.
- For a salted caramel apple, Katie sprinkles with chopped salted peanuts and sea salt.
- For a sweet take on breakfast, Jeff adds crushed cereal and mini white chocolate chips.
- For a Halloween treat, Sunny breaks up chocolate peanut butter bars and mini candy-coated chocolates for dipping.
- For a caramel apple easier than pie, GZ dips his into brown sugar and cinnamon.

This was fantastic!!! I used apples, pretzel rods, chopped up Gobbers, chopped up candy corn and crushed m & m’s for the sides. The dip was absolutely delicious!!!!! Start melting it about three hours before you want to serve and stir quite often. Highly recommend!!!!
The dip was delicious! A must try!
These were so delicious. Such a great alternative to caramel apples!!! Yes it is a dip, it does not harden. It’s more like a fondue. My kids absolutely loved it and had a blast doing it. The caramel was amazing. I highly recommend!!!
Very, very delicious caramel dip. However, does not stick to apples.Yes, I washed and dried the apples first and cut them into eighths. My clue should have been the word, “dip,” which I suppose indicates that it’s not intended to coat the apples as in traditional caramel apples. Having said all that, the taste and texture are wonderful. This concoction would be perfect as a sauce for any number of yummy things but as a dip, it’s really not suitable.
