Grilled Chocolate Sandwich

Making a grilled cheese sandwich with chocolate is EXACTLY like that! I made this since I was wanting chocolate and carbohydrates.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 10 mins
Total Time: 20 mins
Servings: 1
Yield: 1 sandwich

Ingredients

  1. 1 tablespoon softened butter, divided
  2. 2 (1/2 inch thick) slices soft French bread
  3. 2 tablespoons semi-sweet chocolate chips, or more to taste
  4. 1 teaspoon white sugar
  5. ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium-low heat. Spread half the butter on one piece of French bread; place butter-side down into warm skillet. Sprinkle bread with chocolate chips; cook until chocolate begins to melt and bread is lightly browned, 2 to 3 minutes.
  2. Spread remaining butter on second piece of bread. Place bread butter-side up on top of melted chocolate. Flip the sandwich and cook until bread is browned on other side, 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from heat; sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  3. If you over-toast the bread, spread a little more butter on to melt and then sprinkle on sugar and cinnamon.

Very simple, easy and yummy. I made this as directed on the recipe and liked it very much but because I was making it for breakfast I decided to drizzle some maple syrup on it and eat it with a fork rather than as a sandwich. Another thing I tried and liked very much was using the Dark Chocolate Indulgence spread (by Kraft Philadelphia) instead of the chocolate chips. It is great either way.
