Tasted good and packed a punch but I couldn’t get the colors to layer neatly like the picture and I tried being careful. This is meant to be a visual drink so that impacted the rating
Excellent!
I haven’t made this recipe yet, but I was wondering if everyone used the jalapeño pepper? Was it very spicy or just a little bit? Do you think the taste would be just as good without using the jalapeños? Thank you!
Yummy drink! I used Vodka instead though, just my preference. Also because it’s the 4th, I wiped the rim with the lime and dipped it in pop rocks so every sip got a BANG!
We made these last year for the 4th and they were great! Once people see them coming out everyone wants one, pretty looking and potent and tasty! We will be making them again this year.
Fun, festive, deliciously easy-drinking, and… strong! The first layer of the 1st drink I experimented with came out pale in color (perhaps diluted by the ice in the shaker however, the following drinks were distinctly red and blue! Received many compliments!
Mine came out just as vibrant as the image here. You do have to pour slowly so the colors/layers don’t blend. Goes down TOO easy. Looked and tasted great. Recommend creating a smaller pitcher of the blue layer if you plan on serving a lot of these.
As Guy likes to say, this recipe is “on point”. Great flavor and balance, not too strong and very drinkable. The colors come mostly from the curacao and cranberry juice, so adding more of these might help those that wish more color. Also, be sure to pour the blue layer gently over the back of a spoon into the red layer for best results. Some layered drinks just look good, this one does that while tasting great.
Made for July 4 party and they were a fun hit, guests were impressed by the color and flavor. Colors not as vibrant as shown but still red white and blue. Could only find sour watermelon schnapps and it worked fine.
This is really good! Easy to make and it looks festive. Be sure to pour the blue portion slowly so that the colors don’t blend. Will make these again.
